Jaffa Theatre is a stage for Arab Hebrew Culture continuing the tradition and production of Jaffa Festival for Children and all the family. The Festival will include outdoor performances, premieres, Bi-lingual plays in Hebrew and Arabic. Performances for Kindergartens in Arab and Jewish schools in Yaffo. Outdoor workshops and performances.

Outdoor Performances in the Theatre Square are free; Workshops – Silhouette Theatre - Create silhouettes presented on a sunlit screen.  Wool painting - a colorful painting that is pleasing to caress.

PLAY SYNOPSES 

"Eh-Oh!"    - Musical Theatre for toddlers

A dancer, an actress and a musician – Each one of them is a virtuoso in their field. They join to create a collaborative work for toddlers. The Wheel of the Seasons is presented in a visual movement theatre combined with live music on stage with touches from the field of classical music. "Eh-Oh!" It is a colorful performance surprisingly fascinating and amusing for toddlers. An interactive and very funny sensory experience.

"Children in Rhythm "– World Premiere

Mika, a curious girl, loses her way and accidentally finds herself in a crowd of kids.  During this special gathering she teaches the kids dance, songs and turns them all into one huge band of drummers with colorful percussion instruments that are just right for boys and girls.

" A Thousand and One Nights"

- A selection of stories from A Thousand and One Nights. Physical theatre that combines music with Eastern and Western motifs.

"The Circus of Sisi & Sima" – Premiere

The Siamese twins Sisi and Sima were born in a circus and in all their dreams were to separate from each other…. the utopian story they present repeatedly in the puppet theatre hidden in them. The classic circus characters take on a magical representation, in the form of dolls and objects from the twilight world of the sisters.  The story of the sisters that flowed through small and big moments of dance, in a fascinating dialogue with the audience.

"Soul Bird" World Premiere

Original adaptation of Papion Theatre to the classic book of Michal Snunit.

"Soul Bird" is not a story but an experience, and therefore it is expressed on stage in all forms possible. It is a show that combines poetry, movement, theatre and silhouettes.

The actress together with the audience goes through the journey with every feeling that arises.  Good or bad gives it room and placing it close in her lap and only then sets it free.

Wrote and directed" Itzik Cohen; Writing, choreography and performance: Galia Patilon; Set Design: Noa Etgar and Einat Sanderovich; Props & Silhouettes: Einat Sanderovich.

"Clown Olympics"

Two super athletes "Photo & Finish"   reach the fitness level and compete in a variety of sports, hoping to bring a first medal to the clown country. They compete in artistic gymnastics, boxing, tennis and all of it in their own clown form.

A clown show that combines juggling and music with audience participation for the whole family and all levels of fitness.

"Otto Motto"

 A story about a package that almost got lost.

Without any warning or purpose,

on stage, a lady stops a motorized vehicle.

She has a mission to deliver a package….?!?!
To whom is it intended – that's the question

 Bull the postman receives a very important task to deliver a package to a destination quickly. Together with Motto and Otto her car they start an adventure full of surprises and obstacles. The world of physical clowning theatre with objects using humor and with magic of bubbles.

"Two"

A bilingual comedy that breaks cultural and linguistic boundaries through the art and love of theatre. When two girls--one Hebrew speaking and one Arabic speaking--find themselves on an abandoned stage, they find friendship and shared language through creation.

One is disturbed with attention deficit, one gifted who is unable to listen to himself. As their paths intersect, the relationship puts them to test themselves, against their friends and the system they face.

A disturbing, funny, and exciting musical by its creators who wrote it from their experiences in the education system.

"Duo Donkey"

Did you know that rubber roosters can fly?

 Have you heard of a man doing more than one act at a time?

 When did you last see a Finnish clown walking around in a giant iron hoop?

The strange pair of clowns come to visit and are not afraid to make you laugh!

Juggling, acrobatics, music, and mostly nonsense in a wordless performance.
