Courage Circus
In collaboration with the Kibbutz Seminar school of theater and dance,
Based on Mother Courage and her children, by Bertold Brecht,1939
Mother Courage is a merchant moving with her Canteen wagon along with her two sons and mute daughter across Europe, on the footsteps of the fighting armies. In her wandering Mother Courage tries to survive and still benefit from the war.
Igal Ezraty and Gaby Aldor located the performance in a Circus-"…by this strange juxtaposition of a tragedy and a circus we tried to create a renviroment which moves us between the amusing to the shocking: a grotesque experience which is perhaps our outcry, the only outcry possible vis-a vis a reality In which killing, corruption and madness are taking place amidst a joyous celebration…"
